Ironman China is owned and produced by Ironman China Ltd., in conjunction with PCH Sports Marketing.
Sanction/License:
The race is an officially licensed event of the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) and will be sanctioned by CTSA, China’s triathlon association. Ironman 70.3 China presented by K-SWISS features 25 qualifying slots for the Foster Grant Ironman 70.3 World Championships.

Trophies for top finishers in each age division and for the male and female overall winners. There is no prize money.

Entry Limit:
The total entry for both races (Ironman China and Ironman 70.3 China) is 1500. The number of Ironman 70.3 China entries to be accepted depends upon the number of Ironman China registrations. Initially, 300 entries are being allocated to Ironman 70.3 China.

by K-SWISS:
Athletes wishing to change their registration entry in order to race the full distance Ironman China may do so by logging on to Active.com and following the procedures specified there. There will be a $50 Transfer Fee charged for this service in addition to the $270 difference between the entry fees for the two races.

Relay Categories
Ironman 70.3 China relays are comprised of 3-person* teams with one person participating in the swim, bike and run legs of the race. The top three teams in these categories will win awards:
* 2-person teams may participate but are not
eligible for awards.
** Corporate Teams must be comprised of current
employees of the same company.

Relay team entry fee is $250 and includes:
Substitution of team members is allowed at any time provided the substitute team members fill out entry forms and personally sign the event waiver. If a team member of a 3-person team withdraws, the team may elect to compete as a 2-person team.

Ironman 70.3 China offers 25 age group qualifying slots to the 2009 Foster Grant Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Clearwater, Florida. There are no pro slots.
At least one slot shall be allocated to each five-year age group category in which any age group athlete sends in an application, both male and female, per the age group categories listed above. If there are no athletes entered in the race in a particular age group, then that slot will be moved to the largest populated age group in that same gender.
The race organization retains the right to combine age groups for Clearwater qualifying in the event that very few athletes register in one or more age groups. Final slot allocation will be posted on the event website and at the race site when available.
The distribution of all slots is governed by the then current rules and regulations of the World Triathlon Corporation. The race organization reserves the right at any time to re-award any slot due to changes in the final race results or other errors.

Ironman China Welcome Dinner and Awards Banquet
Ironman 70.3 athletes are welcome to attend the Ironman China Welcome Dinner and Awards Banquet but must purchase tickets to attend these functions. Ticket prices are:
• $30 for adults
• $18 for children (12 and under)
